Profile
Biography
Eric Branstad is a Partner at Branstad Churchill Group, where he specializes in government relations, public affairs, negotiation consulting, international trade, political strategy, and earned media.
He served as Senior White House Advisor at the U.S. Department of Commerce, where he was the chief aide to Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross. He worked directly with other Department officials and was responsible for special projects as directed by the President, the Vice President, and other White House agencies. He also served as Liaison to the Nation's Governors for the 58th Presidential Inaugural Committee.
Before joining the Administration, Eric was Iowa State Director of the Donald J. Trump for President campaign, which carried Iowa by the largest margin of any presidential candidate since President Reagan's election in 1980, and served as Rules Committee Whip and Floor Whip at the 2016 Republican National Convention.
His career in Iowa Republican politics dates back to the Bush-Cheney re-election campaign in 2004, where he was a field director, and to earlier work for the state party during the 2002 midterms. He went on to serve as Deputy Finance Director of the Republican Party of Iowa, co-founded the Des Moines consulting firm Matchpoint Strategies in 2011, and later opened and led the Des Moines office of Mercury Public Affairs. He has long represented the ethanol and biofuels industries, and has provided strategic and organizational services to candidates for office, state parties, and national campaign committees.
A graduate of Rockhurst University, Eric has since served as a senior advisor to Trump Victory 2020 and to the Trump 2024 presidential campaign in Iowa.
